Now, Is That The Way to Win?
The recent surges in religious freedom are shocking, but that’s in an amazing way. The rise in freedom shall not be described as ‘appalling’. I am surprised to see that so many people, authors and bloggers included, feel brave enough to unleash their beliefs. I, for one, am immensely proud of them, and hope they’ll experience nothing but the best in life. I do not blame them for the choices they have made, for this civilization has not done God any favors. I guess you could consider my beliefs to be weird, if you remember my undying love for the Father, but I completely understand why people have turned away from Him-and haven’t looked back.
In a post that’s been particularly famous (or infamous, if that’s what you’d prefer), several comments have used the Bible to retaliate against a new atheist’s beliefs. I fail to understand why Bible thumpers feel the need to shove their beliefs in front of other people’s faces-and that’s one way to turn potential believers off. If you’re trying to prove an argument in God’s favor, I don’t think shoving the Bible (or any other form of your belief) down another’s throat is going to assist your cause. The one you’re trying to convert will just wrinkle their nose and say: see? That’s why I don’t want anything to do with this! You people are just so stuffy and self-righteous!
Lately, so-called normal marriages have been suffering. Couples stop having sex, couples fall apart due to financial problems/child problems/infidelity/boredom, and spouses just like to run amuck with promiscuity. On a radio show, a woman called in and said her child was a burden. A mistake! Nothing but an obstacle preventing her from reaching her dreams. And mind you, she was calling in to a Christian radio show. But it doesn’t end there. People keep themselves locked in a doomed marriage, because they glue themselves to the values of matrimony found in the Bible. A Christian radio station said God hates marriage. Thus, the extreme amount of those that keep themselves in doomed marriages.
Is all of this really fair? Is it fair for someone to claim a gay person as a friend, when they’re completely against their lifestyle? Is it fair for someone of organized religion to claim friendship with a gay person, only to end up shunning them because of what they are? Is it fair to say that homosexuals will only gain access to Heaven IF they don’t act on their homosexuality? Does that make any sense to you, I ask? It certainly doesn’t make any sense to me. Why claim gayness if you’re only going to mask it? Why are people only looking to God for an insurance plan?
Why why why why? Once again, I say this. It’s no wonder so many people refuse to believe.
